Padissimo UIQ3 User Guide

GENERAL Padissimo provides two extra methods for navigation: a screen-pad and a key-pad. Both virtual pads can be used to conveniently navigate within most applications. PAD LAYOUT The pads are divided to nine functional units, laid out as a 3x3 grid. Four of the units provide navigation to up, down, left and right directions. The middle unit serves for selection and confirmation. Four additional units in the corners of the grid offer extra functions. CORNER FUNCTIONS Top left: Move the screen-pad. Top right: Hide the screen-pad. Bottom left: Back function. Bottom right: Configure the application.    SCREEN-PAD Touch the screen on a screen-pad unit to activate the respective function. The screen-pad supports short and long taps, furthermore gestures, for various modes of navigation.    KEY-PAD The key-pad is located over the keys 1 through 9 on the phone keyboard. On the P990, when the flip is open, the key-pad is mapped over the keys E through V. A small blinker icon in the left corner of the screen indicates if the key-pad is turned on. CUSTOMIZATION The appearance of the screen-pad can be configured using the various controls found in the main view of the application. Amongst other visual types, animated GIF images can be selected in the Pad type control.    HOT-KEYS The Action page of the main view lets you select hot-keys to separately en/disable the two pads.
